How to back up Mastercam working files and posts and move to another PC

  • Posts (machine and controls)
  • Tool library’s
  • Operation default files
  1. On the old PC right click on the C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX) folder and then “send to compressed zip”.
  1. Then copy that zip to a flash drive/network location.
  1. On the new PC – take just the contents of the folders below and copy and paste them in the corresponding folders on new PC (Note: if asked, click “copy and replace”).

File Locations:

Tools.

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX\mill, lathe, wire, router\Tools

Posts

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX\ mill, lathe, wire, router \Posts

Machine and control defs.

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX\CNC_MACHINES

C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared Mcam20XX\CNC_MACHINES

Operation default files

 C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 20XX\mill\Ops
