swcomposerWhen importing files into SOLIDWORKS Composer, you may need to reorient the default vertical axis of the viewport to get the desired shadows and lighting effects. The process is quick and easy.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Browse to the File tab on the Command Ribbon.

  2. Click on Properties.

  3. Click Document Properties.

  4. You will now see the Document Properties Window. On the left hand side, click the option for Viewport.

  5. Look to the right and find the Vertical Axis setting.

  6. By selecting one of the six options for +/- X,Y,Z, you can reorient the vertical axis.
