TriMech is fortunate to work with clients from Maine to Florida and out to Arkansas, offering a range of engineering solutions. This week’s client story showcases Application Solutions and their use of SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, Electrical and TriMech Training Classes.

Application Solutions is a boutique design firm specializing in the blueprint of renewable gas to energy products. They design the hardware, work with manufacturers to build the equipment, commission and provide product support.

Application Solutions focuses on converting renewable gas to energy productsTheir Challenge

While Application Solutions was focusing on finding answers and uncovering insights for their clients, they didn’t even realize their software was slowly becoming out of date. Before they knew it, they were stuck in a 2-dimensional environment and struggling to handle 3-dimensional interfaces. This meant their systems were not as compact, the wiring diagrams were not as complete and they were wasting time and energy trying to get the same results they could easily get in the 3D printing environment.

Watch this video to discover how Application Solutions dealt with this setback.

Their Business Needs

Now that they discovered what their problem was, they had to nail down the best way to solve it. This involved taking inventory of their day-to-day life and what could make it Design of a Siloxane Tankbetter. As they did this they uncovered that not only did they have specific aspects in mind for their electrical drawing packages, but also for their solution partner they would be teaming up with.

One of the most important qualities they knew they needed in a partner was a continuous relationship, not just a quick one-time sale. With the impending software transition, Application Solutions knew they would need someone to help them through the learning curve, someone who would be accessible and close. This wasn’t limited to just technical support however, this also included training needs.

Their Transformation

After exploring several different avenues, Application Solutions found themselves deciding on TriMech and SOLIDWORKS Electrical. With this software, their engineers were able to finish a complete electrical circuit, starting from where the electricity is introduced into the system all the way to the point it’s used. They were also able to assemble multiple panels in one project. Application Solutions was able to provide their clients with the same accuracy level they had come to expect, but the amount of field intervention between the designer and the installer was minimized.

Their Results

Thanks to the help of SOLIDWORKS Electrical, Application Solutions was able to upgrade almost every part of their business. The software quickly became the most used tool (outside of email) and is essential to everything they do. With the help of TriMech training, they were able to hit the ground running. The SOLIDWORKS Electrical training courses were crucial to success because it is a completely different type of CAD software than what Agricultural machine for renewable gas to energy products they were using prior. TriMech was able to give them key instructions, technical support and more, allowing for a collaborative, successful work environment. Application Solutions has also seen other benefits, such as:

  • Accurate Bill of Material for the panel shop
  • Better documentation for clients
  • Evolution of a single panel to doing complete projects
