For many, the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform provides an easy-to-use and ready-to-go data management ecosystem. For those, changing settings inside their tenant is not necessary. However, there are many people who want to customize the experience.
The Platform Administrator can explore the Platform Management Dashboard, Content and “Lifecycle and Collaboration”. For a detailed review on these and other settings, be sure to take our training courses found here: 3DEXPERIENCE Training Courses from TriMech Certified Experts
In the Platform Management Dashboard, the administrator can easily control who can execute certain tasks. As we can see below, a leader credential level would be necessary to create new branches or execute the “New Revision from” command. However, this can be changed.
Remember, there are different access levels to a 3DSpace. The 3DSpace is the internal vault, and where revisioning and real-time collaboration occurs. The access levels could include:
- Contributor– the user is allowed to read content.
- Author– the user can modify content when it is in the “In Work” Maturity State.
- Leader/ Owner– the user can read/ write while the object is in the “In Work” Maturity State and release objects.
For a full analysis of credential levels, please review: 3DSpace Access to Content – User Assistance R2022x.
In many situations, for those coming into the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform with the need for basic data management, organizations can control release based on these credentials. There are formal approval processes (Change Action/ Change Order) and customized routes for those processes. But, the options above allow quick-editing into who can execute certain lifecycle actions.
